About Hoyas Bulldogs

In September of 1991, I Darina, and my family were introduced to our very first English Bulldog. We named her Nikita. We purchased her simply as a family pet and what a pet she turned out to be. She lived with us for 12 ½ years and always had to have the last word. It was a love at first sight. I knew from that moment that I would always have bulldogs. When Nikita turned 3 I decided to breed her only to have a baby from her. It was an amazing and very dedicated experience… and that is how Hoyas bulldogs began. I have now been breeding bulldogs for 16 wonderful years!

I was introduced to English import dog named Macrons Fiery Fred who was the sire to Nikita’s babies and from that litter we have raised 3 Canadian champions. I fell in love with Fred and his style. To me he was the perfect bulldog and I decided that I would import my very own baby from England. It was a little girl named Kelloe Hoyas (Diana).

Diana, who was from the Kelloe Bulldogs was sired by Eng. Ch. Medbull Goldust over Kelloe. “Trevor” was best of Breed at Crufts, Top Puppy for 1996 and top Bulldog for 1996. Diana followed her Dad’s footsteps and became a Canadian Champion before she turned one year old.

Of course Diana needed a husband and I imported one for her. His name was Jaqles Floyd. Floyd also became a Canadian champion before he turned one, with 3 Best Puppy in Group.

My third import was Wyecaple Lucky Hoyas. “Willy” who became a Canadian champion before he turn one. Willy is now living happily with Corey and Jamie Lee.

After losing Floyd I imported another male from a world renowned kennel Ocobo/Mystyle and we named him Ocobo Mack the Knite Mystyle. Mack is sired by English Champion, Mexican Champion, World Winner 2002, Bulldog of the Year 2003, Best of Breed at Crufts 2004 Champion Captain Hudson with Mystyle. Mac is now a Canadian Ch. and a Best In Show Winner given to him by a breeder judge Mr. Christopher Neilson. Thank you to Mr. Neilson for recognizing Mac’s quality.

I have not raised dozens of champions, but I feel proud of our babies. They are only sold on non-breeding contracts to qualified pet homes. After spending so much quality time with them I still shed a tear watching them go home. I am in contact with my babies’ new parents and will assist them in any way possible.

I have made some wonderful friends along the way. Raising these wonderful babies is MY PASSION NOT MY BUSINESS. I am also fortunate to be able to assist with their deliveries.

I do have a full time job outside of my home for past 20 years and my husband is now semi retired. Our other passion is riding our bikes.

I like to say Thank you to Chris and David of Kelloe Bulldogs for allowing me to have Diana to start this wonderful journey with English Bulldogs.

I would also like to thank Dr. Len Stevano and all the Staff at Bolton Veterinary Hospital for taking amazing care of my dogs and who are always there for me and my dogs when ever needed.

Many of the photographs on this site are taken by Mr. Ralph Reinhold. His hobby is to take photos of dogs for dog calendars. Thank you Ralph for your many great photos!
